UPFRONT Magazine 4/1/11

This was a very good article I though. Telling a lot about what happened in the war, who fought for what side. Also that neither Great Britain or France refused to take part in the war since it could have gone either way; that was something I didn't no about the Civil War. Something that did surprise me was in the article it said that most Americans had never heard of Lincoln when he ran for president in 1860, that really surprised me. Since he was the one making a lot of the decisions in the war for the Union. Another thing I did not no about the war was that a lot more men died just from disease than in battle that was something I did not no. I could use some of this stuff in my research for my historical paper about how not either France or Great Britain took part in the war, and that most people didn't hear about Abraham Lincoln running for president. Also that more people died from diseases than on the battle front. Woman did take a not a big part in the war but did do a lot for the war. They were used as spy's since not many would suspect a woman much as a man. They were used to take care of patients. So I think that putting in a article about the woman was a good thing since they did help with the war in either a small part or a little part they.
